WSD Student

Writtle School of Design (WSD) welcomes students interested in studying design and art with courses that are fully supported by specialist staff, dedicated facilities and green campus. These combine to form an excellent set of resources which inspire and nurture individual creativity. Students can select to study and progress through a range of courses with provision being offered at further, higher and postgraduate levels.

WSD specialises in the disciplines of interior design, interior architecture, garden design, and landscape architecture with a range of associated courses. Students who join WSD become part of an innovative design culture that is challenging at many levels developing skills in theory, design, technology, practical application and presentation. Students learn to appreciate and use principles of spatial planning and design accompanied by progressive technologies, including digital expertise, that are integrated into the design process. Graduate courses in landscape architecture have been accredited by the Landscape Institute.

The work of WSD is supported by the Centre for the Arts and Design in the Environment (CADE) which allows for artistic and design residencies, outreach to communities beyond Writtle College, consultancy and research opportunities all of which are used to enrich the curriculum provided by the School, along with a scheme to support graduate businesses.
